Eligibility for Admission

A candidate seeking admission should have:
The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B. Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks. The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic, B.Sc. Nursing from an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC).
Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Candidate shall be medically fit.

B. Sc Nursing Course Bachelor's in Science Nursing is a degree of 4 years. Candidates, who are interested in General nursing course, should at least clear 10+2 board examinations and preferably with physics, chemistry and biology, Arts & commerce also considered as optional subjects with minimum 50 % marks and a sound knowledge of English.. The applicant must be 17 years of age to apply for this course.  The course application forms starts to issue at the end of March and the fees vary from state to state and it depend the Nursing schools and Nursing colleges. Medium of instruction for this course is English.

  • Candidates seeking admission to BSc Nursing course should be unmarried girls between the age of 17 and 35 years.
  • One copy each of Class X and XII (or equivalent) duly attested.

  • One copy of certificate of date of birth duly attested (not required if date of birth is mentioned in Matriculation certificate).
  • Character Certificate from the head of the Institution last attended.
  • SC / ST certificate from the competent authority, if applicable.
  • Three passport size photographs of the candidate. Out of these, one attested should be pasted in the appropriate place at admission form.
What is B. Sc Nursing?

Bachelor's in Science Nursing, four years nursing program that prepares the student to practice across all health care settings. What is Post B. Sc?

Post Basic B.Sc degree in Nursing Program equaling to BSc nursing  is intended to provide an opportunity to a large segment of in-service nurses to upgrade their knowledge, thinking skills, competencies and standards required for practice of professional nursing and midwifery as envisaged in National Health Policy . Post Basic B.Sc Nursing respond to the changing health needs of society, to motivate nurses to maintain clinical competence, to provide quality care, to develop teaching, administrative and research skills and to promote personal and professional growth for better promotional opportunities. . Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is specifically directed to the upgrading of critical and Assume responsibilities as professional competent nurses and midwives at basic level in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services. The applicant must be 17 years of age to apply for this course.  The course application forms issue at the end of March and the fees vary from state to state it depend the Nursing schools and Nursing colleges. Medium of instruction for this course is English. The syllabus of nursing course will be conducted as prescribed by Indian Nursing Council.

General Nursing & Midwifery Course Admission Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission to GNM course should be unmarried girls between the age of 17 and 35 years. However, as per Indian Nursing Council's letter F.No. 1-5/GB-CIR/2007-INC dated 26.02.2007 and it published by nursing Schools. married girl candidates are allowed subject to the condition that they should produce medical fitness certificate.

One copy each of Class X and XII (or equivalent) duly attested. Candidates are required to have passed 10+2 (45% marks for General Category and 40% marks for SC / ST category)

One copy of Mark Sheet of Class X and XII (or equivalent) duly attested.

What is GNM - General Nursing and Midwifery?

General Nursing and Midwifery Course seeks to prepare the general nurse to be able to function as a member of the health team and possess the required competence for the first level position both in Hospital and the community. The course will serve as a basis for advanced study and specialization in Nursing.

General nursing involves the care of a variety of patients who have general medical or surgical needs. This type of nursing allows nurses to learn in a dynamic environment which focuses on many diseases and interventions.  In many ways, general nurses are the back bone of the nursing profession.  In hospitals across India general nursing includes the care of patients with medical and surgical conditions. 

ANM - Auxiliary Nursing And Midwifery The duration of ANM – WE provide education for Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery course is 18 months. After the receipt of the permission to start ANM training program from Indian Nursing Council, the institution shall obtain the approval from the State Nursing Council and Examination Board. Eligibility to join ANM - Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery course minimum 10th pass and some states have changed basic eligibility as 12th pass.
